I’m a Solution-Focused Practitioner and Life Coach.

I’ve learned—and continue to learn—that the only way through fear is action.
Moving forward when I feel uncertain.
Challenging the voice that says I can’t.

The foundation of my work is not simply theory, but also lived experience.

This is why my coaching is effective—I know what it takes to start again when confidence has been shaken.

I grew up as an active, happy child—most often found cycling, playing on the village green, or in my gran’s garden

Simple things. Grounding things.

At 10 years old, everything changed. I had my first tonic-clonic seizure while flying home from Tenerife and was later diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. Seizures have been part of my life ever since.

Acting was my passion and I believed that would be my path, until an audition where I was asked:

“If you had two equally talented actresses and one had epilepsy, which would you choose?”

I didn’t become the actress I thought I would be and that moment quietly changed the direction of my life.

In my twenties, I trained and worked as a youth worker and mental health youth worker—work I loved and found deeply meaningful.

Everything shifted again after epileptic seizures went out of control. I underwent neurosurgery for the 1st time at King’s College Hospital, London in 2006. Although I continued having seizures, they were less severe and I began to look to the future.

Life as I had known it, was not something I could simply return to: it became something I needed to rebuild.

And I did rebuild it.

I began working as a University mental health advisor, completed my master’s degree and began my training as a Solution Focused practitioner.

Life is full of ups & downs isn't it? I had further surgery in 2016 when my children were 3 & 6 years old. Then in December 2025, after much thought, the neurosurgeons performed a resection of my right parietal lobe for the 3rd time. The outcome has been life-enriching, and I am indebted to KCH and the NHS in Cornwall for 30 years of medical care.

I enjoyed being a member of Toastmasters International—even competing at club, area, division, and district level. I gave this up just before my last surgery as the closest club was 2 hours away. Later I founded Cornwall Speakers

Today, I live in a bungalow we rebuilt from scratch in the middle of Cornwall.

We moved from being right beside the sea to living among trees and plants. I miss the easy access to the beach, but the wildlife in the pond outside my front door more than makes up for it.

I am a proud member of a neurodiverse household; shared with my teenage children and my husband. We are, of course, ruled by our cat Ruby and her sidekick, Coco the dog.

My music taste is eclectic and wide—Dolly Parton, CMAT, Nina Simone, Madness… and anything in between.

I love musicals—especially Les Misérables.
Tim Minchin is my not-at-all-guilty pleasure

I’m always open to discovering something new through someone else’s recommendation.

What I help people with

I work with young people and adults, neurodiverse clients, and people navigating identity change or loss.

People come to me saying:

“I feel stuck and don’t know how to move forward.”
“My confidence is going, going, gone.”
“I overthink everything and can’t take action.”
“I don’t recognise myself anymore.”

What changes through coaching

I help people move from feeling stuck and uncertain to moving forward again.

From overthinking to taking small, steady action.
From self-doubt to self-trust.
From disconnection to feeling more like themselves again.

What clients often experience

People often tell me they feel:

More grounded and clear.
Able to actually take action again.
Less stuck in their head.
More able to trust themselves.
Like life feels possible again.

My coaching style

My coaching is practical, solution-focused, and grounded in real-life change—not theory.

It is paced, collaborative, and neuro-aware, with a focus on what is manageable and real in the moment.

What makes my work different

What makes my work different is lived experience.

I understand what it is to rebuild life from the inside out.

I understand what it feels like when your mind, body, or confidence no longer behaves the way it used to—and what it takes to begin again.

What I don’t do

I don’t use unrealistic goal pressure.
I don’t do toxic positivity.
I don’t push people into change before they are ready.
