Sometimes the brightest sparkles appear when the world grows quiet.
The day may have been busy. Perhaps it was filled with appointments, responsibilities, worries, or the countless tasks that seem to demand our attention. Yet when darkness falls, something shifts.
The noise softens.
The pace slows.
The night invites us to notice what we may have missed during the day.
A star appearing between clouds.
The gentle glow of a lamp in a window.
The comforting sound of rain against the glass.
A sleeping pet curled up nearby.
A message from someone who was thinking of you.
These moments rarely make headlines. They don't demand attention. They simply wait to be noticed.
When life feels difficult, it can be tempting to focus only on what is wrong, what is missing, or what remains uncertain. Yet even on challenging days, there are often tiny sparkles hidden amongst the shadows.
Not solutions to every problem.
Not reasons to ignore pain or struggle.
Just small reminders that goodness still exists alongside them.
This evening, before you close your eyes, perhaps pause for a moment and ask yourself:
What was one small sparkle in my day?
It might be something as simple as a smile from a stranger, a favourite song on the radio, a moment of laughter, or the comfort of being home.
The answer doesn't need to be remarkable.
Often the most meaningful sparkles are the ones we almost overlook.
As darkness settles and another day draws to a close, may you find comfort in knowing that even the smallest light can shine brightly in the night.
And sometimes, that small light is enough.
